Transcription: Louisiana contributed this bronze statue of Edward Douglass White. A Confederate soldier at the age of 16, White's career included being Louisiana State Senator, Associate Justice of that state's Supreme Court, and U.S. Senator. He was appointed Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1894 and was Chief Justice from 1910 to 1921.
